Flatt Shad XHSK 66

The 66XHSK is ideal for snapper with a real to life rounded profile that produces excited hyper-reactive movements giving the lure a wicked swimming action. Reel it fast for violent vibrations, and then pause for it to suspend in the strike zone. Then hang on tight when the Snapper goes for its easy meal.

The whole secret of the Flatt Shad is linked to its hydrodynamic shape, its back cuts the water, then the body shape creates turbulence on both sides and under the belly. This overall instability makes the bait swim even at the slowest retrieve speeds, which is vital for success with Snapper.

Flatt Shad XHSK 96

As with the 66XHSK, the Flatt Shad Extra Heavy Sinking 95 is ideal for snapper. Able to jig beyond a 30m depth, the 95 can also be cast close to the bottom in very deep water.

The position of the back eye keeps the Flatt Shad under perfect balance. This is critical as this is the reason why this lure, unlike others, can be so gently twitched in a kind of finesse action commonly used for worms or vertical jigging. This motion is so deadly that snapper can't resist it!

Magic Swimmer Soft 130

Fished deep on a Carolina rig, the MS130 soft is one of the most deadly snapper soft plastics you'll ever use. Rig it with a free running sinker about 30cm above the plastic, and leave the hook exposed in the body for maximum effect. The soft weight system can be used in conjunction with the free running sinker. By putting the soft weights inside the body of the plastic, you get a bait that darts around erratically when twitched and moved through the water, it looks just like a wounded baitfish, and snapper cannot resist this. If you leave the hook concealed inside the body, the bait can be fished snagless, and won't foul up on reef. The hollow belly cavity of the Magic swimmer soft 130 is also the ideal location to add some extra scent to the lure for maximum effect.

The beauty of the 130 soft is that with a Carolina rig, it can simply be put in a rod holder while the boat is drifting, just a few metres up off the bottom, and it will simply fish itself this way, and will also target the bigger fish hanging up off the bottom.

Magic Swimmer FSK 110

If you want to cast for snapper in the shallows around reef, rocks or weed, the Magic Swimmer 110 FSK is the ideal lure. Simply allow it to sink to your desired depth and slow roll it back, or give it a few twitches and allow it to sink, it will swim on the sink, so be ready for a bite. A very easy lure to use, and very versatile around shallow reef structure.

A.T. Worm 7.5"

The AT worm can be rigged very much like the Magic swimmer soft 130, Carolina rigged with a free running sinker above the plastic. The difference with the AT worm, is that the v shaped head, combined with the soft weight system rigging method, allows the plastic to dart up from the bottom when pulled forwards.

The V shaped head acts like a boat hull and provides lift, which makes the AT worm swim upwards when twitched. This makes it look like a dying baitfish twitching around near the bottom, and makes an irresistible meal for any snapper.
